Student Life

Campus Life

The College of Art has two campuses. Students spend their first two years at the Tokorozawa Campus. Students can develop naturally in the free and easy atmosphere of the spacious Tokorozawa Campus. While there, students receive the fundamental education they need to become artists, including foreign languages and liberal arts education. They also learn the basic skills of each of their specializations. Students move to the Ekoda Campus in their 3rd and 4th years. Ekoda is known as a college town and the Ekoda Campus is intimately connected with this, creating a congenial atmosphere in which to study. The academic year is divided into two semesters, the first beginning in April and the second in September. In addition, students can also use the summer vacation period to pursue their creative activities or conduct research. There are also many extra-curricula classes and projects organized by the College.

School Events

There are big events held at the College in Spring and Autumn. In May, a Welcome Festival for Freshmen is held at the Tokorozawa Campus. The senior students put on exhibitions and performances that display the range of club activities in the College. This provides the new students with a great incentive to get involved in creative activities. The Arts Festival held in November is the biggest event in the calendar at the College of Art. Students can display the results of their current research and creative activities to a wide audience. This event connects the students with each other, the teaching and administrative staff and local residents who attend the festival.
